Seahorses

Seahorse populations are threatened in the wild due to over fishing, pollution, habitat degradation and use in the traditional Chinese medicine trade. Here at London Aquarium we work in partnership with Project Seahorse and the British T.A.G groups to breed and raise seahorses.

The London Aquarium specialises in breeding the Knysna Seahorse “Hippocampus Capensis” was the first to be assessed as "threatened" on the IUCN Red List in 1994.
